Had a late start to the morning, but started it off right with a goat's cheese quiche, two chocolate croissants and an almond croissant...Mmmmmmm....so healthy! We walked to
Notre Dame Cathedral just in time for the noon mass (lucky Steve) - what an amazing place! After that, we saw that the Musee D'Orsay had a huge lineup, so instead we went across the Seine to check out the Obelisk and the Champs D'Elysees. A neato thing was that if you looked through the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel, then the Obelisk, the Champs D'Elysees, the Grande Arche and the Jardin de Tuileries were all aligned. We walked and walked and walked some more and found our way to a small cafe where we had 'une assiete de fromage assortis' and espressos. Unfortunately, Steve saw a HUGE chocolate sundae dessert being served to the table next to us and just HAD to order it...what a mistake. He is still regretting it 4 hours later. At around 10pm, we decided to go for dinner, and even though it was so late, the restaurant was still packed! We went to
'Au Pied du Cochon', and we both had the
french onion soup, we shared a salmon dish that was swimming in butter (beurre blanc) and a steak dish with french fries, and finished off with more espressos and a strawberry/rose dessert. Yummy! Back at the hotel at 1.30am, so it's probably time for bed...
