Edinburgh Castle and Salisbury Crag

We woke up for a yummy full Scottish breakfast at the B&B (beans, black pudding, sausage, fried egg, tomatoes, bacon and toast). Then we walked up to Edinburgh Castle and spent a few hours exploring and Steve giggled at the Stone of Destiny and the royal dog cemetary. Pretty impressive place with really good views of the city. After that we walked the Royal Mile to Holyrood Park and made an impromptu decision to tackle the Salisbury Crag despite Christina's lack of proper footwear ("I thought we were just going to the pub!"). We didn't quite make it up to Arthur's Seat at the top (Christina started hyperventilating on a narrow and rocky ledge very high up), but did make a valiant attempt before heading back down and straight to a pub for some haggis, 'neeps and tatties (turneeps and mashed potatties), fish and chippies and a few pints.

Hours of walking: 6
